hi Saint! This black beauty is an almost 3-year-old German Shepherd. She came to us from our friends in Baltimore. Originally adopted from them in, she unfortunately was surrendered due to not being the right fit for her new family. Saint is a very special dog. As a young, very energetic and smart dog, she needs lots of stimulation and activity. She is an affectionate, sweet and loyal dog that needs appropriate stimulation - scent work or really any other advanced training would be wonderful. When Saint was originally found as a stray, she had only a nub for a tail from an apparent previous amputation. When stressed, she will circle and attempt to catch what used to be her tail. She was medicated to help her relax in Baltimore. Since arriving at our rescue, she has been much more relaxed and we haven't seen that behavior (and so she hasn't been kept on any medication). What is more, we believe she would excel as a single purpose working dog. With her keen nose, high drive and willingness to work, she would be wonderful for narcotics or other scent related work. Saint is looking for the right home to allow her to be the best dog she can. She would need to meet any dogs at home. At this time, she will not be placed with cats or young children.
