hi Dougie! This handsome boy is a 1 1/2 year old cattle dog / mixed breed. He was originally adopted from another shelter. When he was returned to them, we were asked to take him on. Dougie is a great dog. Once he knows his people, he loves them fiercely and unconditionally. He does however need a home that will be patient and allow him to come around on his own terms as he is weary of new people. He was originally returned by his prior family because he was hearding children and nipping at their feet - for that reason, he is looking for an adult only home to love him. From his temporary foster - I love this boy with my whole heart! Had the pleasure of fostering him for two weeks. It took about a week for him to settle in and come around to all family members but once he did it was so rewarding! He's very energetic and intelligent and solicits cuddles often. He loved all types of toys, his favorite being anything rope/bone and he loved fetching and rolling around in our backyard. He did great with any physical outdoor activity and in the car and stuck to his people like glue. It was a blessing to watch him come out of his shell and I hope someone provides him a few weeks to do so! Dougie is looking for an experienced home that will provide him with the structure, love and stability that he needs to thrive. Dougie will need to meet any resident dogs. At this time, he prefers a home with no kids.
