Kairos (FKA Toro) is an 8 month old approximately 60lb and growing neutered male Malinois. True to the breed, he is incredibly loyal, loving, and eager to please his people. Kairos is fairly low-drive for the breed and can rest comfortably with you at home at your feet or on the couch after a long day, though he is still a high-drive breed and has plenty of energy to play the day away. True to the breed, he does need regular work or activities. Puzzles and playing ball are his favorites. Kairos has basic obedience down and knows heel, sit, wait, “out” to release his toys, and settle. He is still working on his independent down, but progressing, and is also working on middle. He absolutely loves to train and learn! Kairos has excellent leash manners walking at a full heel with no pressure and has been trained to sit and face you when you stop walking. His nose never stops and he would love to do scent work, but also has the athleticism for sports such as dock diving or agility. Kairos is crate trained, will eat in his crate, but does become anxious when kenneled without his people in the house. He does require a heavy duty kennel to keep him safe while he learns what is okay to chew and what is not and how to relax when kenneled. He is a typical Velcro Malinois who loves to be near his people! Kairos has been in a loving home for several months with an experienced owner, but unfortunately is looking for new placement with an owner who is home more often and a household with all individuals having the same confidence level in handling. While he is a snuggly sweetheart, when excited he will jump or get mouthy at those who are not confident or without related training or breed experience. He means well, but is large and needs continued training to learn to respect all, not just his main trainer. His current home does have a young child, whom he interacts with well, but all interactions are monitored for over-excitement. His ideal home would be an adopter looking for a loyal partner to bring on every adventure, will be home with him or have him along for the ride for adventures or training most of the day, and can offer him continued consistency and confidence in his training as he grows and learns to respect boundaries with all, not just trainers. He has been in a home with 2 other dogs, one large and one small (38lbs) and plays well with others!
