Tanya's story started in a basement, but we think her best days are still ahead of her. This beautiful German Shepherd is about 2 years old and weighs 42 pounds. She was discovered living as a in a basement and brought to ACCT Philly when her owner was hospitalized and unable to reclaim her. Despite whatever uncertainty she experienced, Tanya has remained an incredibly sweet, resilient, and loving dog. When Tanya arrived at ACCT, her long coat was heavily matted, so she enjoyed a much-needed spa day complete with a bath and shave-down. She was an absolute star for the grooming team - social, tolerant, easygoing, and seemingly delighted by all the attention. Tanya was so cooperative during her makeover that she appeared to genuinely enjoy being pampered. Her current haircut may be a little unconventional, but we think it just adds to her charm. Her gorgeous shepherd coat will be growing back before you know it! Tanya is a friendly, playful girl who loves spending time with people. She's easy to leash, enjoys her walks, and approaches life with a happy, energetic attitude. Around other dogs, she has shown neutral, relaxed body language and has coexisted politely, making her a great candidate for a home with another compatible canine companion.
