Meet Starlight, an 8-year-old Toy Fox Terrier whose gentle spirit shines brighter than her difficult past. She came to us alongside another dog after spending her life with a commercial breeder, no longer needed but so very deserving of love. At about 8–10 pounds, she’s a petite bundle of sweetness who has handled every change with quiet grace. Despite what she’s been through, Starlight holds no grudges. She may be a bit shy at first, but she is genuinely trying to be brave, to trust, and to settle into the rhythm of real companionship. In her foster home, Starlight is an easy, happy little character. It’s clear why she was bred, she is a truly beautiful dog with a steady, gentle disposition. She carries her 8 years lightly, still energetic enough to explore the world on walks and sniff her way through new adventures. True to her terrier roots, she’s more of an inquisitive observer than a determined hunter, and she’s perfectly content sunbathing or curled up in your lap. She’s wonderful with kids, friendly with everyone she meets, and gets along well with other dogs. She could thrive either as an only dog or with a social canine friend. Her favorite hobbies include neck rubs, quietly chewing her Yak stick, and, adorably, stealing socks just so she can snuggle with them. Starlight is house trained, has a solid recall, and has even learned to “wait.” She rarely barks and brings a peaceful, gentle energy wherever she goes. This lovely girl has waited her whole life for a family of her own.
