Princess is a 5-year-old Bichon Frise weighing 14 pounds who was recently rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. One of our volunteers witnessed her being pulled from a shed packed floor to ceiling with crates, a heartbreaking glimpse into the life she had known until now. It's no surprise that Princess arrived scared, nervous, and unsure of the world around her. For years, life gave Princess very little reason to trust people. Now, she's slowly learning something completely new: that she is safe, that gentle hands bring comfort, and that love isn't something she has to earn. Princess is still finding her confidence and will need a patient, compassionate family willing to let her move at her own pace. The smallest milestones, a wagging tail, a curious approach, a moment of trust, are huge victories for a dog who has spent so much of her life simply surviving. What Princess truly deserves now is the life she's been denied. Cozy beds. Soft blankets. Gentle walks. Plenty of treats. A family who adores her.
