hi Max! This good boy is a 3 1/2 year old mixed breed, suspected black lab and hound. When he was just a tiny puppy, he, his siblings and mama came to us from a high risk shelter. The whole group was adopted pretty quickly but sadly, over 3 years later, Max was returned to us. Max lived in a home and was doing so well. He is a sweet and friendly boy that loves his people very much. Sadly, he was uncomfortable around a toddler who sometimes visited the house. The family initially reached out to us for help with a trainer but months later they needed immediately to surrender Max and admitted to never have done any training to support Max when the child was around. When Max first came to us, he was shy and nervous, but it didn't take long for him to recognize our volunteers and come out of his shell. He is a social and affectionate boy that has been winning the hearts of his volunteers. This sensitive boy is looking for his forever home. He would prefer either an adult only or a home with older (teenager) kids. He does well with other dogs. He will need to meet any resident dogs.
