Lars is proof that patience, kindness, and time can help a dog begin to blossom. This handsome 1 year old Belgian Shepherd came to us as part of a group of dogs rescued from a difficult situation. Like many of the others, Lars arrived nervous, timid, and unsure of the world around him. But every day, he's showing us just how much progress he's capable of making. While Lars is still hesitant about new experiences, he's already improving by leaps and bounds. He's slowly learning to walk on a leash and thee things that once seemed overwhelming are starting to feel a little less scary. Outside in the play yard is where Lars truly shines. He loves exploring, investigating new sights and smells, splashing in the kiddie pool, and enjoying time outdoors. As his confidence grows, so does his curiosity. He's even started seeking out affection from volunteers, a huge milestone for a dog who began his journey so unsure of people. Lars is looking for a patient, loving family that understands that trust takes time. He'll need adopters who will continue building his confidence, celebrate the small victories, and help him discover all the joys of being a beloved family dog. Watching Lars grow and gain courage has been incredibly rewarding, and we know the right home will get to experience even more of those special moments. If you have a kind heart, realistic expectations, and the commitment to help a shy dog continue to flourish, Lars may be the perfect addition to your family. Every day Lars gets a little braver. Now he's ready to find the family that will cheer him on for the rest of the journey. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested.
