She came to us from a commercial breeder when she was no longer wanted, and despite everything, she has remained a soft, sweet girl who just wants to feel safe and loved. Lila is still building her confidence, but her progress has been beautiful to watch. She allows all handling without hesitation and just needs a couple of minutes to warm up to new people. Once she feels secure, her affectionate, loving nature shines right through. She was briefly adopted, but returned after a few days because she was very uncomfortable with the female adopter and young son, although she was perfectly comfortable with the male adopter. Here at the rescue, she has been absolutely lovely with all our volunteers — men and women — and she’s been a star at adoption events, happily accepting gentle attention from everyone she meets.
