hi Huxley, this smiling gentleman is a is a 1 1/2 year old French Bulldog. He and another dog were surrendered to our care from a Lancaster breeder when they decided not to continue using him for breeding. He is about 27 lbs. Huxley is a life of the party. He is a happy, social and super friendly fellow that loves all his people. He has been wonderful with all of us and he has had no issues with handling. He would need to meet any resident dogs. He will come 4dx tested, vaccinated and microchipped. Huxley went to one of our rescue partners on 4/28 for a neuter. He went into respiratory distress while they were trying to sedate him for surgery. The procedure was discontinued, and we were asked to take to a different vet after he recovers to attempt the neuter with a different anesthesia protocol . After giving him time to recover, he was sent to another hospital a month later. Using a different anesthesia protocol, he was still unable to be safely sedated. Considering the risk of surgery, at this time, Huxley is being adopted unneutered. The adopter needs to understand that should he ever need a procedure that requires a sedation, it will be very high risk and most likely not possible to preform it due to the anesthesia / respiratory issues. Unfortunately, Huxley was bred for looks, not for health and the breathing concerns while going under anesthesia are result of it.
