Meet Hunnit Hunnit is a 27‑lb, 10‑ish‑year‑old mixed breed with a fragile heart and a story that tugs deeply. He arrived at ACCT Philly as a stray, alongside another dog to whom he was deeply bonded. These two were clearly each other’s comfort and safety. Sadly, Hunnit’s companion was very, very sick, and Hunnit is now alone. Since losing his friend, Hunnit has been scared, shut down, and confused. He is sight‑impaired, which only adds to how overwhelming the world feels right now. Everything he knew is gone, and he’s struggling to understand what comes next. While our volunteers work hard to offer him love and reassurance, Hunnit truly needs what a shelter can’t provide: a quiet, calm, understanding home where he can finally exhale. He needs patient adopters who understand grief, senior dogs, and the beauty of offering a soft landing to an old soul who has already lost so much. Hunnit isn’t asking for much — just peace, kindness, and the chance to spend his next chapter feeling safe again. A slow pace, gentle voices, and a predictable environment will mean everything to him. He will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. Hunnit would benefit from a dental but right now, he is a bit to fragile and shut down to put him through it. The rescue will remain responsible for a dental, at our vet, post adoption for when he is less fragile and has a chance to recuperate at home.
