Meet Diamond! This little nugget came to us from our shelter partner in Baltimore. She is a 5 year old Shih tzu. Diamond's previous owner had nothing but good things to say about her upon surrender, despite being unable to care for her anymore. In Baltimore and in our care she has made it clear that she is very nervous and scared. She's definitely started to settle in more, occasionally enjoying attention and snuggles, but leashing still takes some patience, and she can also be intolerant of certain handling as well. Diamond is all bark and no bite - she lets us know very clearly when she is overwhelmed and would prefer to be left alone. With patience and love, she does let us pick her up and handle her. Diamond is looking for a quite, adult only, small-dog-attitude experienced home that would give her the grace of patience and time. We just know that there is a wonderfully sweet dog underneath her tough and scared facade. Diamond will come spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and heartworm tested. She also is scheduled for a dental.
