hi Colt, this stunning boy is a 8 month old German Shepherd. He was originally surrendered by a breeder to the rescue and adopted at 2 months old. Sadly, he just came back to the rescue when his owners were not able to provide for him anymore. Colt is an amazing dog that is also a typical older shepherd puppy. He loves playing with toys and while he is working on the "drop it" command, he will trade you for another dog. Squeaky toys and tennis balls are his favorite. He can be still jumpy and mouthy but he is working on it - he is just super excited, rambunctious and happy. His prior family reports that he likes to sit in chairs on the patio or sofas and be part of the party. He LOVES water and playing with water, though funny enough, he does not love baths. He has lived with several kids of different ages and did great with them - he enjoyed when the girls would run around the yard with him or splash water at him. His family reported that he knows his name, and commands such as sit, down, high five, quiet, heel, place and stay. He would need to meet any resident dogs. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, 4dx tested, dewormed and flea treated. As a 6-week-old puppy he was diagnosed with Grade IV heart murmur but then he outgrew it and it was downgraded to just Grade II. While his heart would need to be kept an eye on, it is not expected to cause any issues or require additional care.
